MRDS mine locations are often very general, and in some cases are incorrect. Some mine remains have been covered or removed by modern industrial activity or by development of things like housing. The satellite view offers a quick glimpse as to whether the MRDS location corresponds to visible mine remains.

Comments

Comment (Development): Location uncertain and UTMs taken from approximate location of Isabella claims owned by above named companies. Norsemont Mining Corp. optioned property to Homestake about 1990. in 1999 a new mining syndicate formed by Franc-Or Resources Corp., Ranger Minerals Ltd., and Cordilleran Exploration Co. is evaluating a claim group in the Fitting district. The syndicate has staked five properties in Nevada so far and geologic mapping and sampling are reported to be underway (Northern Miner, 12/20/1999). In 2000,Cordilleran Nevada syndicate placed surface work on hold at the Fitting property (77 unpatented claims) until a complicated land ownership situation is resolved on adjoining ground. The property hosts a Carlin-type system, with shales and shaly limestones that locally display broad zones of decalcification, sanded dolomite, and brecciated jasperoid that may run up to 0.06 opt Au (Franc-Or Resources Corp., 8/31/2000)

Comment (Commodity): Ore Materials: gold?

Comment (Economic Factors): In 1991 the property contained a drill indicated resource of 100,000 ounces of gold. The mine produced a small amount in 1980-81. 1996 the property was reported to contain a resource of 5,000,000 short tons of material grading 0.08 ounces of gold per ton.

Comment (Identification): This is a new record for the Isabella-Pearl Property significant deposit.

Comment (Location): Location uncertain and UTMs taken from approximate location of Isabella claims owned by Homestake Mining Co. & Combined Metals Reduction Co. in 1999.

Comment (Workings): Old underground workings and more recent surface exploration
