A small placer deposit is found in gravels in Cornelia Arroyo (sees. 23 and 26, T. 12 S., R. 6 W.).

Production History

24 ounces of gold was recovered during the period 1932-33 at a time when the New Cornelia copper mine was closed; apparently, no placer gold has been recovered since that time.

Source

The gold is evidently derived from the oxidized part of the New Cornelia ore body, which contains about 0.0067 ounce of gold per unit of copper.
