Comments

Comment (Commodity): MAGNETITE BODIES CONTAIN OVER 50% MAGNETITE VS. QUARTZ: ADGGS GR8, P. 14-15

Comment (Development): APPARENTLY PART OF THE MCNEIL CLAIMS 1911-1923, THEN ABANDONED. RE-DISCOVERED BY E. SARGENT IN 1953. CONSIDERABLE PROSPECTING IN 1950'S, ASSESSMENT WORK CONTINUING AS OF 1980.

Comment (Deposit): TACTITE SKARN DEPOSIT WITH DESSIMINATED CHALCOPYRITE; SULFIDE LENSES 3 FT BY 10 FT; AT LEAST 10 KNOWN MAGNETITE-QUARTZ TACTITE BODIES COVERING 6 ACRES WITH THE LARGEST 75 FT BY 10 FT.

Comment (Geology): CONTACT METAMORPHIC EPIDOTE-GARNET TACTITE BODIES AND MAGNETITE-QUARTZ BODIES, BOTH RELATIVELY SMALL AND DISCONTINUOUS.

Comment (Deposit): PROBABLY THE SAME TACTITE BODY AS THE MCNEIL CLAIMS, MF-364 LOC. 20 AND IL-20, WITH SIMILAR MINERALIZATION. EXPLORATION STILL GOING ON AS OF 1980 ON BOTH SITES. ; INFO.SRC : 1 PUB LIT

Comment (Deposit): THIS SITE NAME WAS CREATED BY THE REPORTER OR OTHER USGS EMPLOYEE BASED ON PROXIMITY TO SOME MAJOR GEOGRAPHIC FEATURE.

Comment (Location): USGS MF-364, LOCATION 19; LOCATED 0.5 MI NW OF MF-364 LOCATION 20 ON UNNAMED CREEK (SARGENT CREEK) FLOWING INTO CREVICE CREEK, AT 1800 FT. ELEVATION. LAND STATUS VALUE CALCULATED 6-94 USING GIS OVERLAY ANALYSIS WITH BLM 1:2,500,000 SCALE OWNERSHIP STATUS MAP (1991).

Comment (Workings): NUMEROUS PROSPECT PITS AND SMALL SHAFTS, MOSTLY CAVED IN
