Comment (Development): MOST OF MINING BY GROUNDSLUICING OVERBURDEN AND SHOVELING INTO SLUICE BOXES. A HYDRAULIC PLANT OPERATED 1903-04. MINED IN 1975 BY BULLDOZER.

Comment (Deposit): GOLD MAINLY ON AND IN CREVICES IN UPPER PART OF DECOMPOSED BEDROCK. OVERBURDEN AVERAGES 14 FT. IN THICKNESS. GOLD BEARING QUARTZ VEINS FOUND NEAR HEAD.

Comment (Geology): MAIN STREAM AND 2 HEADWATER TRIBUTARIES FLOW IN NARROW V-SHAPED VALLEYS. ; MAJOR.UNITS: BEDROCK FOR 5 MILES UPSTREAM FROM MOUTH IS TERTIARY SEDIMENTARY ROCKS. FURTHER UPSTREAM BEDROCK IS A COMPLEX ASSEMBLAGE OF METAMORPHOSED PALEOZOIC SEDIMENTARY ROCKS AND GREENSTONE. NEAR CONFLUENCE OF FORKS BEDROCK IS SERPENTINE CUT BY BASIC DIKES. ; REG.COM: GOLD DERIVED FROM QUARTZ VEINS.
