Comment (Geology): NEAR CREEK HEAD BASALT IS IN CONTACT WITH TERTIARY? CONGLOMERATE. LOCALLY BOTH FINE-GRAINED FELSIC AND MAFIC HYPABYSSAL AND VOLCANIC ROCKS OCCUR. ; MAJOR.UNITS: BEDROCK IS A COARSE SCHISTOSE SANDY QUARTZITE OF PROBABLE PALEOZOIC AGE, INTRUDED BY GRANITIC ROCKS.

Comment (Deposit): STREAM GRADIENT ABOUT 150 FEET PER MILE. ; INFO.SRC : 1 PUB LIT; 2 UNPUB REPT

Comment (Location): USGS MF-393, LOC 42. COORDINATES GIVEN ARE FOR PLACER GROUND NEAR MOUTH. CABIN RUINS FURTHER UPSTREAM (SEE EAGLE D-2) MAY INDICATE MINING AS MUCH AS 3 MILES UPSTREAM. LAND STATUS VALUE CALCULATED 6-94 USING GIS OVERLAY ANALYSIS WITH BLM 1:2,500,000 SCALE OWNERSHIP STATUS MAP (1991).
