Comment (Deposit): GOLD IN STREAM GRAVEL AND IN BENCH GRAVEL CLOSE TO CREEK. GRAVEL 5-10 FT. BENEATH MUCK OF VARIABLE THICKNESS. ON BENCH, PAY GRAVELS SAID TO BE FOUND OVER A DISTANCE OF MORE THAN 2 MILES.

Comment (Geology): SW SIDE OF VALLEY IS STEEP; NW SIDE IS GENTLE. BEDROCK STRIKES N 70 E AND DIPS STEEPLY N. UPPER (PAY) PART OF CREEK COURSE ALONG STRIKE. ; MAJOR.UNITS: BEDROCK MAINLY LOWER CRETACEOUS BLACK SLATE; QUARTZITE IN VALLEY WALL TO SOUTH.
