Comment (Workings): Workings / Exploration = The Parker vein was developed by a number of open cuts and by a 70-foot-deep inclined shaft (Stewart, 1933, p. 145). In 1933, drifting along the vein began, both to the north and south, on the 50-foot level below the shaft (Stewart, 1933, p. 145).

Comment (Geology): Geologic Description = This occurrence consists of an irregular, 1- to 6-inch-thick, gold-bearing quartz vein oriented N. 15 E., dipping 55 W. (Chapman and Foster, 1969, p. D19; Stewart, 1933, p. 145). The quartz is coarsely crystalline and contains small amounts of metallic sulfides (Stewart, 1933, p. 145). Bedrock in this area, on the northern flanks of Ester Dome, consists of two units of the Fairbanks Schist: a quartz-muscovite schist and an amphibolite-biotite schist (Newberrry and others, 1996). The vein was developed by a number of open cuts and by a 70-foot-deep inclined shaft (Stewart, 1933, p. 145).
