Comment (Geology): Age = Mineralization is Tertiary or younger. Potassium-argon dates from samples of this plutonic body range from about 35 to 41 m.y. (Reed and Lanphere, 1972; 1973).

Comment (Geology): Geologic Description = Lambeth (1978) described the occurrence as coarse molybdenite with tungsten in fracture in quartz monzonite. Nelson and others (1983, unit Ti17) described the bedrock as granite and biotite-hornblende granite and granodiorite. Potassium-argon dates from samples of unit Ti17 range from about 35 to 41 m.y. (Reed and Lanphere, 1972; 1973). The rocks in the south seem to be younger than the rocks in the north (Nelson and others, 1983).

Comment (Deposit): Model Name = Porphyry Mo, Low-F ? (Cox and Singer, 1986; model 21b ?)

Comment (Deposit): Other Comments = MAS/MILS sequence number 0020930025 (Bureau of Mines, 1995). Site is in Lake Clark National Park and Preserve. This unnamed occurrence may actually be the Neacola River occurrence (ARDF number LC001).
