Comments

Comment (Workings): THE DALY SHAFT NO. 2 IS A THREE COMPARTMENT SHAFT SHAFT WHICH WAS SUNK LATE IN THE HISTORY OF THE PROPERTY, AROUND, 1910. THE COLLAR OF THE SHAFT IS LOCATED ABOUT 200 FT INTO THE ADJACENT ONTARIO PROPERTY. THE TOTAL ESTIMATED LENGTH OF WORKINGS ACCESSED BY THE DALY SHAFT NO. 2 IS 10000 FT

Comment (Geology): MOST MINERALIZATION HAS QUARTZITE AS HANGING WALL, FOOTWALL, OR BOTH

Comment (Production): PRODUCTION FIGURES ARE FOR THE ENTIRE DALY PROPERTY, INCLUDING THE DALY SHAFT NO. 1

Comment (Location): INFO FROM LAND.ST :1983

Comment (Development): CLAIMS LOCATED BY J.J. DALY IN FEB. 1885 WHO FORMED THE DALY MINING CO. PROPERTY WAS LOCATED FOR THE PURPOSE OF DEVELOPING THE WESTERN EXTENSTION OF THE ONTARIO LODE. PRODUCTION BEGAN IN 1886 AND THE DALY CO. CONTINUED TO SHIP UNTIL 1897. PROPERTY HAS BEEN OPERATED BY LESSEES AND PRODUCED INTERMITTENTLY UNTIL ABOUT 1950. PARK UTAH CONSOLIDATED MINES CO. OWNED A LARGE INTEREST IN THE MINE AND WAS CONSOLIDATED WITH UNITED PARK CITY MINES CO.

Comment (Deposit): ORE BODIES LIE EXCLUSIVELY WITHIN FISSURES WHICH ARE A CONTINUATION OF THE ONTARIO VEIN. THE ORE BODIES ARE TABULAR WITH LENTICULAR ENLARGEMENTS. SOME PORTIONS OF THE VEINS ARE ENLARGED UPWARDS, REACHING A MAXIMUM WIDTH OF 140 FT. VEINS USUALLY 20 FT WIDE ORE SHOOTS REACH THEIR WIDEST EXTENT ABOVE THE 800 FT LEVEL. SIZE OF VEINS AND GRADE OF ORE DECREASES BENEATH THIS POINT. SIX SUB PARALLEL NORTHEAST STRIKING VEINS HAVE BEEN MINED IN A ZONE ABOUT 2800 FT. WIDE. FROM NORTH TO SOUTH THE VEINS ARE THE NORTH VEIN, ONTARIO VEIN, DALY VEIN, SOUTH VEIN, MIDDLE VEIN AND DIXIE VEIN. THE DALY VEIN WAS THE GREATEST PRODUCER
