Comment (Production): FIRST WORKED IN 1857. IN 1879 ORE WAS TREATED IN A 5-STAMP MILL. BY 1888 EXTENSIVE OPEN CUTS AND UNDERGROUND WORKINGS HAD BEEN DEVELOPED AND A 40-STAMP MILL WAS ACTIVE. CYANIDATION PLANT INSTALLED IN 1894 AND OPERATED UNTIL 1901 WHEN MINE SHUT DOWN. CONSIDERABLE PROSPECTING AND DEVELOPMENT DONE IN 1930'S.

Comment (Workings): A 500-FT. DRIFT ADIT, OPEN CUTS AS WIDE AS 135 FT.. ABOUT 450 FT. FROM ADIT PORTAL IS A WINZE WITH 3 LEVELS; SEVERAL THOUSAND FEET OF DRIFTS AND CROSSCUTS.

Comment (Deposit): COUNTRY ROCK IS SILICIFIED SCHIST, SLATE, AND QUARTZITE AND LIMESTONE OF THE CALAVERAS GROUP. HOLDINGS OF 72 ACRES. GOLD QUARTZ VEIN ON FOLIO 3 SEEMS TO BE IN SECS. 33, 34. LISTED BUT NOT PLOTTED ON MAP, PL. 2, DOM BULL. 108
