Comment (Production): DISCOVERED IN EARLY GOLD RUSH DAYS. WORKED INTERMITTENTLY UNTIL 1939. IDLE SINCE 1940. IN 1876 ORE FR. THE MILL WAS RUNNING $15.00 PER TON AT PREVAILING PRICE OF GOLD. IN 1896 MINE YIELDED 387 OZ. GOLD FROM UNKNOWN TONNAGE OF ORE. FROM 1937-1939 356 TONS OF ORE WERE MINED WHICH YIELDED 238 OZ. GOLD AND 96 OZ. SILVER. IN 1938 THE OLD DUMP SAMPLED $8.42 PER TON. MAY BE THE WORKINGS SHOWN IN THE NE1/4 OF THE SEC. ON USGS QUAD. HORNITOS, CALIF. 1949

Comment (Workings): INCLINED SHAFT 230 FT. DEEP FROM WHICH A LARGE FOOTAGE OF DRIFTS HAS BEEN DRIVEN.
