Mine Info
Satelite View
MRDS mine locations are often very general, and in some cases are incorrect. Some mine remains have been covered or removed by modern industrial activity or by development of things like housing. The satellite view offers a quick glimpse as to whether the MRDS location corresponds to visible mine remains.

Comments
Comment (Geology): GEOL.DESC: THE INTERVOLCANIC AMERICAN RIVER FLOWED THROUGH THIS PROPERTY, DEPOSITING GRAVEL OF TWO DIFFERENT PERIODS. EARLIER CHANNEL WAS CONSIDERABLY ERODED SO THAT ONLY REMANTS IN THE FORM OF BENCHES REMAIN. SEVERAL OF THESE BENCH DEPOSITS, OF WHICH THE LARGER WERE 150, 175 AND 325 FT. LONG, WERE WORKED BT. 1900 AND 1906. PRINCIPAL PAY CAME FROM THE EARLIER CHANNELS. THE CHANNELS WERE COVERED WITH ANDESITE AND THE PAY GRAVEL WAS CEMENTED.
Comment (Production): TOTAL PRODUCTION SAID TO HAVE BEEN OVER $115,000.
Comment (Workings): WORKED AS A DRIFT MINE, THROUGH ADITS AND PROSPECT SHAFTS.
