Comment (Geology): GEOL.DESC: IN CREEK BELOW CLIFFS OF CHERT AND BASALT ARE NUMEROUS BLOCKS OF HARD YELLOW-BROWN MATERIAL, A FINE GRANULAR AGGREGATE OF QUARTZ STAINED YELLOW BY IRON OXIDE. OUTER SURFACES ARE COATED WITH BLACK MANGANESE OXIDE. SOME HIGH GRADE ORE IS FOUND ON OUTSIDE OF BLOCKS. YELLOW-BROWN MATERIAL IS CUT BY SOME NARROW VEINS OF PINK CARBONATE, WHICH IS RHODOCHROSITE OR MANGANIFEROUS CALCITE. IN N 1/2 SECTION 10 IS SMALL BODY OF MANGANESE STAINED CHERT, WITH ADMIXTURES OF SILICEOUS ORE.
