Comments

Comment (Geology): GREENSTONE IS SILICIFIED, SOME CONTAINING INCLUSIONS OF RED JASPER OR CHERT. HOST ROCKS ARE WITHIN THE WESTERN PALEOZOIC AND TRIASSIC BELT OF THE KLAMATH MOUNTAINS

Comment (Location): ONE REFERENCE GIVES LOCATION AS SEC. 25; IT IS PRESUMED TO BE INCORRECT. ADJOINS MT. VERNON MINE ON WEST

Comment (Development): SUBLEASED TO CRYSTAL CREEK MINING CO., REDDING, IN 1944

Comment (Deposit): VEINS ON IRONSIDE CLAIM, 2-20 IN. THICK, OFFSET 8-25 FT AT INTERVALS BY FAULTS STRIKING N65W, DIPPING 60N. ANOTHER VEIN, 6 IN. THICK; IN PLACES, VEIN CONSISTS OF AN INCH OF GOUGE, THEN QUARTZ WIDENS TO 14 IN. AND BECOMES BANDED, WITH BANDS 1/4 IN. THICK, SEPARATED BY DARK LINES, EACH OF WHICH POSSIBLY REPRESENTS RE-OPENING OF FISSURE. THIS VEIN HAS GRANODIORITE HANGING WALL, WHICH BECOMES A DIKE 100 FT. THICK NEAR SURFACE. MOST OF VEIN IS 6-18 IN. THICK WITH CRUSHED QUARTZ HEAVILY STAINED WITH FE AND MN OXIDES. QUARTZ IS MILKY WITH A FEW SMALL OPEN VUGS AND MAY CONTAIN FRAGMENTS OF COUNTRY ROCK. SULFIDES ARE GENERALLY NOT PLENTIFUL

Comment (Workings): 4 ADITS, LONGEST 450 FT, AND 1800 FT TUNNEL. STOPED 80-100 FT TO SURFACE FOR LENGTH OF 300 FT. DRIFTS ON NO. 4 LEVEL AND AT BOTTOM OF 25 FT WINZE. WADSWORTH ADIT, 75 FT LOWER, EXTENDED S15W TO 200 FT, CROSSCUT WEST TO 6 IN. THICK VEIN.

Comment (Deposit): 14 LODE AND 2 PLACER CLAIMS
