Mine Info
Satelite View
MRDS mine locations are often very general, and in some cases are incorrect. Some mine remains have been covered or removed by modern industrial activity or by development of things like housing. Comments
Comment (Development): FIRST ORE WAS MILLED IN ARRASTRAS. A SMALL CYANIDE PLANT WAS BUILT IN THE EARLY 1900'S. A MILL RUN OF SEVERAL HUNDRED TONS OF ORE WAS MADE FROM THE CUMBERLAND MINE BEFORE 1908.
Comment (Deposit): ADJACENT PARALLEL FISSURES FORM A SHEETED ZONE. IN THE CUMBERLAND LODE, VEIN MATERIAL CONTAINS MANY VUGS LINED WITH GOLD, FLUORITE, AND OTHER MINERALS. 2 MAIN PARALLEL LODES SEVERAL HUNDRED FEET APART. GOLD IS CONCENTRATED IN FISSURE ZONES OF VARYING WIDTH,AND IS ALSO DISSEMINATED IN THE BEDS OF FINELY SHATTERED QUARTZITE.
Comment (Workings): THESE CLAIMS HAVE THE MOST EXTENSIVE UNDERGROUND WORKINGS OF THE DISTRICT: 2 SHAFTS, SEVERAL STOPES AND WINZES.
Comment (Deposit): COMPRISES 11 LODE CLAIMS OF WHICH 3 ARE FRACTIONAL ; INFO.SRC : 1 PUB LIT; 2 UNPUB REPT
