Comments

Comment (Commodity): PB ORE MINERAL NOT GIVEN IN THE LITERATURE

Comment (Production): A SMALL AMOUNT OF ORE PRODUCED IN 1952 RAN 28% MN.

Comment (Deposit): ORE IS PB CARBONATE IN A MANGANIFEROUS GANGUE. LEAD ORE VEIN OCCUPIES A NORMAL FAULT IN LIMESTONE. AT THE NORTH SHAFT, MN ORE MAKES OUT INTO THE COUNTRY ROCK AS FAR AS 20 FT FROM THE FOOTWALL OF THE VEIN. AT THE OPEN CUT 150 FT N OF THE SHAFTS, HIGH-GRADE MN ORE IS EXPOSED, ROUGHLY 50 FT INTO THE COUNTRY ROCK FROM THE LEAD-ORE VEIN. THIS ORE HAS IN PART A STEELY APPEARANCE DUE TO ABUNDANT PYROLUSITE IN IT. IN PLACES THE ORE EXTENDS OUT INTO THE FOOTWALL ALONG THE BEDDING OF THE THINLY STRATIFIED LIMESTONE, WHICH DIPS 5E.

Comment (Workings): ADIT 570 FT LONG, BEARING S20E, 150-FT LONG CROSSCUT, SEVERAL SMALL PITS, SMALL OPEN CUT, 2 SHALLOW INCLINES 60 FT APART ON ORE OUTCROP 150 FT S OF OPEN CUT.

Comment (Geology): PB ORE VEIN OCCUPIES A NORMAL FAULT. IT IS A PB CARBONATE IN A MANGANIFEROUS GANGUE, WITH A STEELY APPEARANCE IN PART DUE TO PYROLUSITE. IN PLACES THE ORE EXTENDS OUT INTO THE FOOT WALL ALONG THE LIMESTONE BEDDING AS MUCH AS 50 FEET
