Satelite View

MRDS mine locations are often very general, and in some cases are incorrect. Some mine remains have been covered or removed by modern industrial activity or by development of things like housing. The satellite view offers a quick glimpse as to whether the MRDS location corresponds to visible mine remains.

Comments

Comment (Deposit): A LITTLE SCHEELITE OCCURS IN GARNET- EPIDOTE TACTITE

Comment (Workings): DRILL HOLES, SHALLOW PROSPECT PITS

Comment (Geology): SMALL DIKES OF LATE TERTIARY TO EARLY QUATERNARY BASALT CUT THE CONTACT BETWEEN LIMESTONE & DIORITE IN AREA NEAR THE IRON DEPOSITS.

Comment (Location): ESE OF COPPER KING SHAFT ABOUT 0.5 MILE

Comment (Deposit): EXPLORED BY MAGNETOMETER SURVEY AND 13 WAGON DRILL HOLES. SEVERAL PODS OF MASSIVE MAGNETITE OCCUR IN FOLDED LIMESTONE NEAR CONTACTS WITH SMALL DIORITE INTRUSIONS. MAGNETITE PODS ARE ASSOCIATED WITH A GARNET-EPIDOTE TACTITE THAT CONTAINS SOME SCHEELITE. MINERALIZED ZONE TRENDS NE AND IS 100 TO 200 FEET WIDE, BUT THE MINERALIZATION IS NOT CONTINUOUS ALONG STRIKE, AND BARREN ZONES EXIST BETWEEN FE-OXIDE VEINS IN THE DIORITE INTRUSIONS. ; INFO.SRC : 1 PUB LIT; 2 UNPUB REPT; 3 FIELD OBSERV
