MRDS mine locations are often very general, and in some cases are incorrect. Some mine remains have been covered or removed by modern industrial activity or by development of things like housing. The satellite view offers a quick glimpse as to whether the MRDS location corresponds to visible mine remains.

Comments
Comment (Development): AREA OF OLD WORKINGS INCLUDES AREA OF OLDER DRILLING. CURRENTLY (1984) THE AREA TO THE SOUTH IS BEING REDRILLED BY BORAX, WHICH DENIED ACCESS TO THE OLDER WORKINGS. THEY HAVE SEVERAL SECTIONS UNDER NEW STAKES INCLUDING SECTIONS 3, 9, 10, 15, 6. MINING UNDER WAY IN 1988.
Comment (Deposit): WORKINGS ALONG WILLOW CREEK WERE NOT ACCESSIBLE BECAUSE OF BORAX CO. POLICY, HOWEVER, THEY WERE IN HIGHLY ALTERED VOLCANIC RHYOLITES AND TUFFS, IN SAME TARGET AREA BEING DRILLED BY COMPANY. THE OLDER WORKINGS TO THE NORTH WERE ALONG QUARTZ VEINS IN OLDER SEDIMENTS OF THE AULD LANG SYNE GROUP. SAMPLE 2825 WAS FROM A VEIN CROSSING A STREAM COURSE IN SEDIMENTS THAT WERE BEING PROSPECTED BY A SMALL ADIT. THE VEIN WAS A HIGHLY OXIDIZED, SILICIFIED BRECCIA. SAMPLE 2826 WAS FROM A DUMP ADJACENT TO A COLLAPSED SHAFT IN BRECCIA AND QUARTZ VEINS. MORE PROSPECTS SIMILAR TO THESE DOT THE LANDSCAPE ALONG THE WEST SIDE OF THE RANGE WITHIN THE OLDER SEDIMENTS.
Comment (Workings): INCLINED SHAFT, DRIFT, 3 STOPES; OPEN PIT MINE.
Comment (Geology): VEINS WITHIN MINERALIZED SHEAR ZONES ARE HIGHLY OXIDIZED.
Comment (Deposit): DEVELOPED BY AN INCLINED SHAFT, 200 FOOT MAIN DRIFT, AND THREE STOPES, AS WELL AS A NEW OPEN PIT. ; INFO.SRC : 1 PUB LIT; 2 UNPUB REPT; 3 FIELD OBSERV
Comment (Location): ACCESSIBLE VIA POOR DIRT ROAD 3 MILES WEST OF THE SULPHER-LOVELOCK ROAD.
