Comments

Comment (Deposit): Discovery Year: 1930'S OR BEFORE

Comment (Production): WORKED AT INTERVALS FROM 1930'S TO EARLY 1960'S BUT RECORDS OF PRODUCTION ARE SPARSE. IN 1948-49 120 TONS OF ORE WAS MILLED FOR THE FREE GOLD VALUES. LAST KNOWN PRODUCTION IN 1960.

Comment (Geology): THE MINE IS ON A QUARTZ-SPHALERITE-PYRITE VEIN

Comment (Deposit): 0.3 M WIDE QUARTZ VEIN PARALLEL TO BEDDING IN PHYLLITE AND HORNFELS WHICH STRIKES N70E, DIP 30NW (FROM CONTACT OF HORNFELS AND GRANITE). GRANITE IS CUT BY APLITE AND DIABASE DIKES. VEIN REPORTEDLY CONTAINS SPHALERITE, ALTHOUGH NONE WAS SEEN IN THE SAMPLE COLLECTED. ACCORDING TO STEVE LUDDINGTON OF USGS, THE VEIN CONTAINS SPARSE YELLOW SCHEELITE.

Comment (Workings): ONE MAIN ADIT ON VEIN.

Comment (Development): WORKED SPORADICALLY FROM 1930'S TO EARLY 1960'S WITH SPOTTY RECORDS
