Comments

Comment (Production): PRODUCTION MAY HAVE BEEN BETWEEN $500,000 TO $1,000,000 IN 1893-1911. (BONHAM, 1970)

Comment (Development): "REDISCOVERY" OF THE DISTRICT OCCURRED IN 1880 WHEN THE NEVADA MINING CO ACQUIRED THE GOLD PARK GROUP AND BUILT A SMALL STAMP MILL. IN 1919, R. S. TODD TOOK OVER AND ORGANIZED THE STAR OF THE WEST MINING CO AND INSTALLED A 50 TPD MILL IN 1921. IN 1927, PRESENT OWNERS BOUGHT THE PATENTS AT TAX SALE.

Comment (Deposit): TWO VEINS: THE ARTIC AND THE STAR OF THE WEST. THE SIZE/DIRECTIONAL DATAS ABOVE ARE OF THE STAR OF THE WEST VEIN. THE ARTIC VEIN STRIKES N15E, DIP 30-50E, AND 4 FT WIDE. THE SAN FRANCISCO VEIN STRIKES N-S AND IS NEARLY VERTICAL. IT IS 5-10 FT WIDE AT THE SURFACE, PINCHING TO 1.5 FT AT 46 FT DEPTH. ONE VEIN SHOWED $15/TON MILLING ORE AND 2-FT PAY STREAK.

Comment (Workings): WORKINGS CONSIST OF THREE ADITS AT THE STAR OF THE WEST VEIN (325 FT, 1,000 FT, AND 900 FT LONG); AT THE ARCTIC VEIN THERE IS ONE INCLINE SHAFT AND A 200 FT ADIT
