Mine Info
Satelite View
MRDS mine locations are often very general, and in some cases are incorrect. Some mine remains have been covered or removed by modern industrial activity or by development of things like housing. The satellite view offers a quick glimpse as to whether the MRDS location corresponds to visible mine remains.

Comments
Comment (Location): IN WILDHORSE CANYON; UTM APPROXIMATE
Comment (Production): ABOUT $80,000 WORTH OF ORE AVG. 170 OZ./TON AU AND 760 OZ AG/TON.
Comment (Development): 5 LODE CLAIMS ACTIVELY MINED FROM 1959 TO AT LEAST 1973 ON A SMALL SCALE
Comment (Geology): MAIN VEIN MATERIAL IS HIGHLY METAMORPHOSED RHYOLITE-QUARTZ BRECCIA
Comment (Deposit): MINING ON THE PROPERTY WAS PRINCIPALLY ALONG TWO VEINS. THE VEINS WERE FOUND TO CONVERGE; A CROSS CUT REVEALED SEVEN VEINS CONVERGING ON A SINGLE INTERSECTION POINT, NEAR THE ORIGINAL SHAFT. MINE WAS NEVER WORKED BELOW 75 FEET DUE TO THE WATER LEVEL. WILDHORSE GROUP CONSISTS OF 5 LODE MINING CLAIMS THAT HAVE BEEN ACTIVELY MINED FOR 14 YEARS ON A SMALL SCALE (1959-1973) BY CLAYTON MENDHAM. EARLY PROSPECTING OCCURRED IN WILD HORSE CANYON IN 1908 BUT NO SHIPMENTS MADE. ; INFO.SRC : 1 PUB LIT; 2 UNPUB REPT
