THE LARGEST YEARLY PRODUCTION WAS FOR 1939 & 1940 WITH PLACER MINING OPERATIONS ON THE JANKS GROUP OF CLAIMS AND THE RIO SECO CLAIMS. Comment (Geology): THE CLAIMS ARE LOCATED IN ANCIENT LAKEBED GRAVELS. GOLD-BEARING GRAVELS, FOUND IN RAVINES IN THICKNESSES OF 2 TO 12 FEET, CHARACTERISTICALLY OVERLIE A FALSE BEDROCK OF CLAY, WHICH OVERLIE BARREN GRAVELS. GOLD OCCURS AS FLAT NUGGETS.
