Mine Info
Satelite View
MRDS mine locations are often very general, and in some cases are incorrect. Some mine remains have been covered or removed by modern industrial activity or by development of things like housing. The satellite view offers a quick glimpse as to whether the MRDS location corresponds to visible mine remains.

Comments
Comment (Geology): SKARN OCCURS ALONG CONTACT BETWEEN GRANITE AND LIMESTONE. THE LIMESTONE STRIKES E AND DIPS APPROXIMATELY VERTICALLY. NORTH-TRENDING FAULTS INTERSECT THE LIMESTONE AND IN PLACES CONTAIN SMALL PODS OF COPPER ORE, MAINLY AZURITE AND MALACHITE, BUT WITH SOME CHALCOPYRITE ASSOCIATED WITH PYRITE AND QUARTZ.
Comment (Commodity): REPLACEMENT
Comment (Location): SW CORNER OF T8N, R36E; NE BLANK OF GABBS VALLEY RANGE
Comment (Deposit): ORE ZONE 500 FEET LONG AND 10 TO 40 FEET WIDE FOUND IN TACTITE AND LIMESTONE ALONG CONTACT WITH GRANITIC ROCK; IT IS A REPLACEMENT OF A FAVORABLE BED. THE EASTERN 2/3 IS NARROW AND CONSISTS MAINLY OF VEINLETS AND PODS OF INTERMIXED MAGNETITE AND TACTITE. IN WESTERN 1/3 THE ZONE WIDENS TO ABOUT 40 FEET AND FOR LENGTH OF 200 FEET IS LARGELY IRON ORE WITH LITTLE WASTE.
