Comments

Comment (Location): INFO FROM LAND.ST :1972

Comment (Development): NO ACTIVITY AT TIME OF EXAMINATION IN 1983, BUT TRENCHING WAS PROBABLY DONE IN PAST 5 YEARS OR SO.

Comment (Deposit): THE SHAFT IS INCLINED ALONG AN IRON-STAINED, SILICIFIED, GOSSAN REPLACEMENT ZONE. MINERALIZED DUMP ROCK IS RED-BLACK, VERY DENSE AND COMPOSED ALMOST WHOLLY OF MAGNETITE. MAGNETITE ALSO OCCURS IN CALCITE-VEINED TACTITE AND AS REPLACEMENT PODS IN THE LIMESTONE. LIMESTONE WASTE ROCK SHOWS VARIOUS TYPES OF ALTERATION INCLUDING SILICATION, MARBELIZATION, AND REPLACEMENT OR STAINING BY IRON-OXIDES (GOSSAN). SAMPLE 1707 IS OF REPLACED LIMESTONE COLLECTED FROM BULLDOZER TRENCH IN DRAINAGE BELOW ADIT. THE ROCK IS BANDED, VERY DENSE, AND CONTAINS LENSES AND VEINS OF CALCITE AND OXIDIZED PODS AND CRYSTALS OF MAGNETITE, COPPER OXIDES, PYRITE, AND CHALCOPYRITE. THE SAMPLE WAS LAMPED AND ONLY TWO VERY FINE SPECKS OF SCHEELITE WERE OBSERVED. ROCKS EXPOSED IN BULLDOZED TRENCH CONSISTS OF A SEQUENCE OF WHITE MEDIUM-COARSELY CRYSTALLINE MARBLE, EPIDOTIZED MONZONITE-DIORITE INTRUSIVE ROCK AND BANDED, LIGHT AND DARK GREEN TACTITE. CONTACT OF INTRUSIVE WITH LIMESTONE IS NOT WELL-EXPOSED, BUT ORIENTATION

Comment (Deposit): IS PROBABLY NE-SW. WEATHERED, CHLORITICALLY ALTERED INTRUSIVE OUTCROPS AT BOTTOM OF TRENCH JUST NW OF ADIT. THE ROCK HAS FE-STAINED FRACTURES AND CARRIES A SMALL AMOUNT OF OXIDIZED PYRITE. SILICATED

Comment (Workings): S30E-TRENDING ADIT RECENTLY DEMOLISHED BY TRENCHING AND SCRAPING IN DRAINAGE AREA. REMAINS OF TRACK NEAR PORTAL. PROSPECT ABOVE ADIT IS A CAVED SHAFT INCLINED ABOUT 40 NE.
