Comment (Location): ON TOP OF PEAK BETWEEN DEER LODGE CANYON TO S. AND OX VALLEY TO N ; INFO FROM LAND.ST :(1972)

Comment (Deposit): A URANIUM PROSPECT IS REPORTED TO EXIST AT THE UNCON FORMITY BETWEEN A TERTIARY TOPAZ-BEARING RHYOLITE FLOW AND UNDERLYING TRACHY ANDESITE FLOWS. THE DEPOSIT MAY HAVE BEEN FORMED BY LOW-T ALTERATION AND LEACHING OF THE TOPAZ RHYOLITE. THIS IS PROBABLY THE SAME PROSPECT AS THAT MENTIONED BY TSCHANZ AND PAMPEYAN (1970, P.160) AS CONTAINING AUTINITE.

Comment (Geology): KEITH (1980) INDICATES THAT THE STATELINE VOLCANIC COMPLEX MAY CONTAIN PORPHYRY MOLYBENUM MINERALIZATION AT DEPTH. MOLYBDENUM PORPHYRIES HAVE BEEN DRILLED AND EXPLORED IN THE NEARBY STATELINE DISTRICT TO THE NE
