Comments
Comment (Location): ABOUT 3 MILES UP BUSHEE CREEK CANYON FROM THE PEARCE RANCH AND ADJACENT TO THE MERCURY KING (NORTH FORK) GROUP . INFO FROM LAND.ST :(1972)
Comment (Development): THE RAINBOW GROUP OF 9 CLAIMS LOCATED BY CHESTER AND BUTLER IN 1954 WERE PROBABLY A RESTAKING OF GROUND FORMERLY HELD UNDER ANOTHER NAME. IN 1956-1961 EXPLORATION WAS DONE UNDER THE SUPERVISION OF THE MERCURY CORP. OF AMERICA FOR METALS EXPLORATION CORP. HEADED BY GEORGE H. SALMON. ALTHOUGH THE DISCOVERY OF ORE OF GOOD GRADE WAS REPORTED, AND PLANS WERE MADE TO HAUL IT TO A RECOVERY PLANT IN WINNEMUCCA, IT IS NOT KNOWN IF ANY ORE WAS HAULED FROM HERE, AND NO PRODUCTION WAS EVER RECORDED.
Comment (Workings): AT LEAST 2 ADITS, THE LONGEST OF WHICH IS MORE THAN 130 FT LONG; A SHALLOW SHAFT, 2 SMALL OPEN PITS AND SEVERAL TRENCHES AND CUTS.
Comment (Commodity): ORE CONTAINING 28 LB HG PER TON WAS REPORTED, BUT NOT SEEN BY BAILEY ET AL.
