Comments

Comment (Development): SMALL PRODUCTION FROM EARLY 1900'S. AREA STAKED BY ERICKSON'S GROUP IN 1979; CLAIMS STILL VALID, BUT NO APPARENT ACTIVITY AT TIME OF EXAMINATION IN 1986.

Comment (Deposit): Discovery Year: EARLY 1900'S

Comment (Deposit): WORKINGS TO THE SE THAT ARE PROBABLY RELATED TO THE 1954 EARTH QUAKE.

Comment (Location): NW OF GEIGER GAP AREA; NO ROAD ; INFO FROM LAND.ST :(197 )

Comment (Deposit): A GROUP OF PARALLEL ADITS EXPLORE VEINS IN SHEAR ZONES. THE UPPER WEST ADIT FOLLOWS A 4-6 FT PARTLY BRECCIATED QUARTZ VEIN IN A SHEAR THAT BEARS N 60 E, AND DIPS 85 NW. ABOUT 60 FT FROM THE PORTAL, THE VEIN IS OFFSET BY A NW-TRENDING FAULT. SAMPLE 3926 WAS FROM NEAR INTERSECTION OF THE 2 STRUCTURES WHERE THE VEIN CONTINUES TO THE NE. THE SAMPLE CONSISTED OF VUGGY CREAM-COLORED, WHITE QUARTZ AND BLADED CRYSTALS OF QUARTZ AND ADULARIA PSEUDOMORPHIC AFTER CALCITE. SAMPLE 3890 WAS SELECTED FROM THE DUMP. THIS AND OTHER WORKINGS LOCATED WITHIN THE GOLD KING GROUP ALL TREND NE BUT MOST ARE LOCATED ALMOST EXACTLY ON THE MAJOR NW-TRENDING GOLD KING GROUP FAULT IDENTIFIED BY SCHRADER (1947) WHICH CAN BE SEEN VERY CLEARLY IN THE CANYON TO THE SE, WHERE IT FORMS A 70-100 FT THICK ZONE AT THE SURFACE AND IS MARKED BY A RECENT SCARP ATOP THE RIDGE ALONG ITS STRIKE. SCHRADER REFERS TO THE SCARP AND TO A PERIOD OF EARTH QUAKE ACTIVITY AROUND 1903. THE FAULT ZONE SHOWS MOVEMENT AT DEPTH IN

Comment (Workings): 5 SMALL ADITS, SEVERAL STOPES, DRIFTS AND OTHER PROSPECTS ON THE WEST-FACING SLOPE, ONE 300-FT ADIT DRIVEN FROM EAST SIDE.
