Comments

Comment (Location): NE SIDE OF WONDER MOUNTAIN ; INFO FROM LAND.ST :(1972)

Comment (Reserve-Resource): NORTHERN MINER 9/17/81

Comment (Deposit): NEVADA WONDER VEIN LIES PARTLY ON THE CONTACT BETWEEN RHYOLITE AND INTRUSIVE DACITE, AND PARTLY WITHIN THE RHYOLITE. VEIN CONSISTS OF QUARTZ, CRUDELY BANDED WITH FELDSPAR (ADULARIA). ORE DEPOSITS OCCURRED AS TABULAR SILICEOUS VEINS IN FISSURES AND SHEAR ZONES LARGELY IN THE QUARTZ LATITE TO RHYOLITE EXTRUSIVES. THE VEINS OR SILICIFIED WALLROCK ADJACENT TO THEM FORMED PROMINENT OUTCROPS. THE VEINS, UP TO 40 FT WIDE ARE USUALLY SEPARATED FROM THE WALLROCK BY A TABULAR SHEET OF GOUGE FROM LESS THAN AN INCH TO SEVERAL FEET WIDE. LOCALLY THE GOUGE IS WELL-BANDED AND MINERALIZED AND CONSTITUTES GOOD ORE. NEVADA WONDER VEIN EXTENDED TO A DEPTH OF OVER 2000 FT. BEST VALVES OCCURRED IN HANGING WALLSIDE OF THE VEIN

Comment (Workings): 2 VERTICAL SHAFTS, MANY SUBSHAFTS, WINZES; OPEN PIT HEAP LEACH FACILITY, MILL

Comment (Development): AREA EXPLORED BY SILVER STRIKE RESOURCES IN 1981 WHO REPORTED 21 DRILL HOLES TOTALLING 2370 FT ON A ZONE WITH A STRIKE LENGTH OF 1550 FT AND DEPTH OF 250 FT. AT THAT TIME, INDICATED RESERVES WERE CALCULATED AT 731780 TONS OF 0.019 OZ/T AU, 2.42 OZ/T AG WITH AN ADDITIONAL 78000 TONS AT 0.014 OZ/T AU AND 1.59 OZ/T AG AND 0.019 OZ/T AU, 3.12 OZ/T AG ON 2 DUMPS. FEASIBILITY STUDY WAS BEING PLANNED (1981)
