Comment (Deposit): TITANIFEROUS MAGNETITE AND MAGNETITE PROBABLY ARE DERIVED FROM THE VOLCANIC ROCKS OF THE AREA AND ARE CONCENTRATED IN BLACK SANDS ALONG SMALL GULLIES AND RILLETS. CONCENTRATIONS OF TITANIFEROUS SANDS AND GRAVELS OCCUR OVER AN AREA OF SEVERAL SQUARE MILES. SAMPLES OF TITANIFEROUS SANDS VARY WIDELY IN TIO2 CONTENT. ONE SAMPLE FROM THE OWNER CONTAINED 9.4 % TIO2 WHILE SEVERAL GRAB SAMPLES FROM NBMG. MINES ALONG STREAM BEDS ASSAYED LESS THAN 3 % TIO2. THE ALLUVIUM IN GULCHES AND ALLUVIAL FANS IS NOT LIKELY TO CONTAIN MORE THAN 1 % TIO2. ; INFO.SRC : 1 PUB LIT
