Comments
Comment (Deposit): BODIES OCCUR PARALLEL TO BEDDING AND TO LESSER EXTENT ALONG FAULTS WHERE THEY CUT FAVORABLE STRATIGRAPHIC HORIZON. THE FAVORABLE ORE HORIZON CROPS OUT FOR 1,500 FT. IN A NW DIRECTION, IT IS CUT OFF BY FAULTS AT BOTH ENDS.
Comment (Workings): NUMEROUS OPEN CUTS, NEAR SURFACE STOPES AND SHORT ADITS
Comment (Geology): GEOL.DESC: ROCKS IN AREA ARE MARBLE AND LIMESTONE OF MISSISSIPPIAN AGE FAULTED AGAINST SILTY LIMESTONE OF PERMIAN AGE. MISSISSIPPIAN LIMESTONE IS FAULTED ON BOTH EAST AND WEST SIDES OF THE MINE AREA AGAINST SILTY BLUISH - GRAY LIMESTONE OF OWENS VALLEY FORMATION, PERMIAN AGE. DIORITE DIKE 1 - 2 FT. THICK, CUTS MISSISSIPPIAN ROCKS IN SOUTHERN END OF MINE, STRIKES N 65 W, DIPS VERTICALLY.
Comment (Deposit): MOST OF ORE REMAINING IN MINE IS OXIDIZED ZINC ORE, CONSISTING MAINLY OF HEMIMORPHITE, HYDROZINCITE AND LIMONITE, LESSER AMOUNTS OF CERUSSITE, ANGLESITE, SMITHSONITE AND SOME BLUE AND GREEN SECONDARY COPPER MINERALS. MORE DETAILED INFORMATION CONTAINED IN REPT. 51
Comment (Commodity): GALENA IS LOCALLY ABUNDANT, PYRITE AND CHALCOPYRITE PRESENT IN MINOR QUANTITIES.
