Comments

Comment (Location): BULL 50 GIVES SEC. 33. Newer topo maps (Porcupine Creek 7.5' topo, 1967; Fontenelle Reservoir 30'X60', 1982, in comparision with index maps in Love and Antweiler, 1973, p. 140) indicate section 7.

Comment (Development): LAST PRODUCTION APPROXIMATELY 1920. AN ATTEMPT WAS MADE DURING WORLD WAR II TO INITIATE OPERATIONS BUT FAILED. NO FURTHER ATTEMPTS WERE MADE AS OF 1970.

Comment (Geology): OIL STAINING; SOME AZURITE AND MALACHITE MINERALIZATION OCCURS IN A 6 INCH SILTSTONE PARTING BETWEEN SANDSTONES.

Comment (General): "This site is located on patented land completely surrounded by Forest Service lands. All surface openings have been backfilled and sealed; the propery is currently [1994] used as a summer cabin site." (Martin, 1994, p. 30)
