Mine Info
Satelite View
MRDS mine locations are often very general, and in some cases are incorrect. Some mine remains have been covered or removed by modern industrial activity or by development of things like housing. The satellite view offers a quick glimpse as to whether the MRDS location corresponds to visible mine remains.

Comment (Deposit): IN 1992 THE OPERATORS BEGAN USING METAL DETECTORS AS AN UNDERGROUND GOLD LOCATION TOOL. AFTER 6 MONTHS OF EXPERIMENTATION, MORE THAN $1 MILLION WORTH OF GOLD HAD BEEN DETECTED AND RECOVERED. IN A 12 DAY PERIOD MINERS REPORTEDLY HAD DETECTED AND RECOVERED 12 KILOGRAMS OF GOLD. PREVIOUS TO THIS METHOD THE MINE WAS HAVING FINANCIAL DIFFICULTY. ; INFO.SRC : 1 PUB LIT
