Comment (Geology): GEOL.DESC: ORE ENCLOSED IN MASSIVE WHITE AND PALE-GREEN CHERT CONTAINING MANGANESE OXIDE STAINS WITH CROSS-CUTTING QUARTZ VEINS UP TO 2 INCHES THICK. SOME ORE OCCURS IN IRREGULAR POCKETS. THE MASSIVE CHERT MAY CONTAIN SOME BEMENTITE OR NEOTOCITE, AND HAS A GENERAL STRIKE OF N 35 E, DIPPING 40 N. W. AT THE EASTERLY CUT. THE CHERT IS IN CONTACT WITH GREENSTONE. THE ORE IS CHIEFLY HARD, BLUE-BLACK PSILOMELANE TYPE, WITH SOME SOFT BLACK OXIDE, HEMATITE STAINS AND SOME PATCHES OF CELLULAR SILICA.
