Comments

Comment (Location): INFO FROM LAND.ST :(1972)

Comment (Workings): EXTENSIVE SURFACE CUTS, TRENCHES, PROSPECT PITS, ROADS THROUGHOUT AREA, MORE THAN ARE SHOWN ON MAP

Comment (Development): EXTENSIVELY PROSPECTED IN 1955-1957, BUT NO ACTIVITY AT TIME OF EXAMINATION IN 1983.

Comment (Deposit): GYPSUM IS WHITE, FLUFFY, SOFT, POROUS WITH VERY MINOR IRON OXIDE STAINS ON WEATHERED SURFACES, AND RELATIVELY PURE ON FRESH SURFACE. OVERLYING GYPSUM DEPOSITS ARE SLIGHTLY FOSSILIFEROUS, PROMINENT, LIMESTONE/DOLOMITE BEDS WITH CHERT/CALCITE NODULES. DRAINAGES IN VICINITY CONSIST OF BEAUTIFUL PUDDINGSTONE ROCK, (BUILDING STONE QUALITY?).
