Comment (Commodity): ORE CONTAINS SUBHEDRAL AND EUHEDRAL MASSES OF YELLOW-BROWN SCHEELITE IN MILKY QUARTZ.

Comment (Production): IN 1918 THE UVADA TUNGSTEN CO. OPERATED THE PILOT KNOB GROUP OF CLAIMS AND A 20-STAMP MILL ON SNAKE CREEK. THIS GROUP MAY HAVE CONSTITUTED THE JOHNSON MINE. BEFORE 1943 THE JOHNSON MINE WAS WORKED SPORADICALLY FOR MANY YEARS. NO PRODUCTION FIGURES AVAILABLE

Comment (Development): ORE WAS MILLED IN A GRAVITY CONCENTRATION PLANT IN THE CANYON ABOUT A MILE BELOW JOHNSON LAKE PRIOR TO 1943.

Comment (Deposit): CUTTING THE GRANITE ARE THIN PEGMATITIC VEINS 1-4 IN WIDE CONTAINING GLASSY QUARTZ, MICA, FELDSPAR SCHEELITE, BERYL, TOPAZ, PYRITE. IN PLACES VEINS ARE BRECCIATED, AND HAVE IRON AND COPPER STAIN, AS WELL AS HUEBNERITE.

Comment (Workings): 2 ADITS WITH OVER 1400 FT OF DRIFTS; ONE PARTIALLY COLLAPSED ADIT IN 1981 AND OTHERS INACCESSIBLE; 20-STAMP MILL, GRAVITY CONCENTRATOR, TRAMWAY FROM CLIFF.
