Comment (Geology): GEOL.DESC: META CHERT HAS BEEN METAMORPHOSED TO FINE GRAINED QUARTZITE OR CHERTY SLATE AND CONTAINS STAINS, STRINGERS, POCKETS AND LENSES OF MANGANESE OXIDES. THE META CHERT IS ENCLOSED IN GRAY TO YELLOW SERICITE SCHIST, BOTH STRIKING N-S TO N 25 W AND DIPPING 60 TO 80 E. ORE IS A MIXTURE OF PSILOMELANE AND PYROLUSITE, WITH ADMIXTURES OF QUARTZ VEIN MATERIAL AND META CHERT. SOME FRAGMENTS OF PINK RHODONITE WERE PRESENT IN THE DUMP. QUARTZ VEINS UP TO 6 INCHES THICK CUT THE META CHERT AND MANGANESE OXIDES.
