Comment (Deposit): Small-scale placer gold mining reported. Gold may be in old strandlines and ancient sandbars, acccording to Noranda Exploration, Inc.

Comment (Development): A two-man operation on Mud Creek was the only mining in the area in 1967. Drift mining reported before 1944. Bench placers evaluated by Noranda Exploration in 1984.
Comment (Location): SGS MF-389, loc. 17. Deposit thought to be in headwater section of Mud Creek. Land status value calculated 6-94 using GIS overlay analysis with BLM 1:2,500,000 scale ownership status map (1991).
