Comments
Comment (Geology): THE COMSTOCK ORE BODY IS MOSTLY TABULAR IN SHAPE BUT CERTAIN PORTIONS OF IT ARE IRREGULAR. FISSURE TYPE DEPOSITS HAVE NOT BEEN FOUND IN THE COMSTOCK MINE YET, BUT IT IS SUSPECTED THAT THEY ARE PRESENT IN VERY MINOR AMOUNTS. THE DIP AND STRIKE OF THE OREBODY AT THE COMSTOCK MINE ARE ESTIMATES FROM THE LITERATURE AND FROM WHAT WAS OBSERVED IN A VISIT TO THE MINE.
Comment (Geology): THE ORE IS KNOWN TO CONTAIN VERY MINOR AMOUNTS OF HEMATITE, WHICH IS MIXED WITH MAGNETITE. HOWEVER, THE PERCENT OF HEMATITE IS UNKNOWN.
Comment (Deposit): MINING PROPERTY PURCHASED BY GENEVA STEEL IN 1990. THIS PROPERTY NOW COMBINED AS ONE PROPERTY WITH MT. LION. DEPOSIT CALLED COMSTOCK/MT LION UNDER PROPERTY FILE SEQ. NO. 0490210041.
