Comments

Comment (Production): TOTAL, 1910 TO 1966: 135 OZ AU; 1337423 OZ. AG; 197,788 LB. CU; 4909847 LB. PB.; 101141 LB. ZN; FOR A TOTAL VALUE OF $1361089. THESE PRODUCTION FIGURES ARE FOR THE DISTRICT AS A WHOLE, BUT NEARLY ALL PRODUCTION WAS FROM THE LEADVILLE MINE, WITH THE MOST PRODUCTIVE YEARS FROM 1920 TO 1925.

Comment (Location): N SIDE LEADVILLE CANYON +/- 600 M.

Comment (Development): TOHOQUA MINING CO. OPERATED 1910-1918; LEADVILLE MINING CO, 1920-1925 LESSEES PRODUCED ORE, 1926-1928. 5 PATENTED CLAIMS

Comment (Deposit): 2 VEINS. ORE RANGED FROM .01-.02 OZ/TON AU; 140-203 OZ/TON AG; 32.5-55.5% PB; 9.6-20.1% ZN.

Comment (Workings): SHAFTS, DRIFTS, RAISES, ETC

Comment (Geology): 2 VEINS: THE LEADVILLE (FROM WHICH MOST ALL PRODUCTION HAS COME) AND THE PARALLEL SWINGLE VEIN TO THE S. SOUTH; ORE MINERALIZATION OCCURS AS IRREGULAR LENSES STRINGERS AND DISSEMINATIONS OF ORE MINERALS & GANGUE REPLACING GOUGEY, BRECCIATED ANDESITE AND DACITE PORPHYRY. DISSEMINATED PYRITE AND MINOR AMOUNTS OF PB AND ZN OCCUR IN THE WALLROCK ADJACENT TO THE VEIN. MAIN OREBODY AVERAGED 3-4 FT. WIDE AND EXTENDED 900 FT. ALONG STRIKE

Comment (Deposit): JOHN HARMON ACQUIRED THE LEADVILLE MINE PRIOR TO 1909 AND FORMED THE TOHOQUA MINING CO., WHICH DEVELOPED AND OPERATED THE MINE FROM 1910 TO 1918, WITH ORE PROCESSED AT THE 60 TPD GRAVITY-CONCENTRATION MILL. THE LEADVILLE MINING CO. WAS FORMED IN 1920 UNDER NEW OWNER A. A. COOD, WHO RAN THE MINE FROM 1920 TO 1925, WHEN THE MILL BURNED DOWN. LESSEES SHIPPED HIGH-GRADE ORE FROM 1926 TO 1928 WHEN A FIRE FORCED CLOSURE OF THE MINE. BURGESS RECOMMENDS FURTHER EXPLORATION FOR CONTINUATION OF THE VEIN WHICH WAS NEVER MINED OUT. THE PROPERTY CONSISTS OF 5 PATENTED GENL CLAIMS DEVELOPED BY 10,700 FT OF DRIFTS, 1110 FT OF SHAFTS WITH NUMEROUS RAISES, ETC. ; INFO.SRC : 1 PUB LIT; 2 UNPUB REPT
