The Old Woman Mountains in eastern San Bernardino County have yielded some gold, the main sources being the Blue Eagle and Long Shot mines, which were active during the 1930s. Native gold and often abundant sulfides occur in quartz veins in granitic rocks. Most of the deposits are only a few tens of feet deep.
