Comment (Deposit): Other Comments = Ten placer(?) claims staked in the valley of Unuk River (U.S. Bureau of Mines, 1979). Occurrence is in Misty Fiords National Monument.

Comment (Geology): Geologic Description = The country rocks in, and immediately upstream from, the area of this placer(?) occurrence are Tertiary or Cretaceous granodiorite and quartz diorite; Mesozoic or Paleozoic metasedimentary and metavolcanic rocks and minor marble; and Eocene leucocratic quartz monzonite and granodiorite (Elliott and Koch, 1981; Koch, 1996). No other geologic information about this property was publicly available in 1981 (Elliott and Koch, 1981, loc. 14).
