Comment (Deposit): GOLD-AND SULFIDE-BEARING QUARTZ VEINS IN SHATTERED ALBITE DIORITE SILLS IN SEQUENCE OF SLATE BELOW GREENSTONE HANGING WALL. SLATE HORSES IN VEINS ALSO MINERALIZED
Comment (Workings): ALL FOUR MINES OF THE TREADWELL COMPLEX WERE CONNECTED UNDERGROUND. THE READY BULLION MINE WAS SEPARATED FROM THE OTHERS BY A WATERTIGHT BULKHEAD AND WAS NOT FLOODED WITH THE TREADWELL, SEVEN HUNDRED FOOT, AND MEXICAN MINES IN 1917, ALSO FOUR MAJOR GLORY HOLES.
Comment (Deposit): FOUR MAJOR MINES OWNED BY THREE (RELATED) COMPANIES MINED SEGMENTS OF ONE MAJOR VEIN STRUCTURE OVER 3500 FT LONG. THREE OF THE FOUR MINES WERE FLOODED BY SEAWATER IN 1917 AND NEVER REOPENED. THE THREE COMPANIES MERGED FOLLOWING THE FLOODING. THE FOURTH MINE CLOSED IN 1922.
