Comment (Deposit): STREAM GRAVELS 8 TO 12 FT DEEP; GOLD ON BEDROCK AND LOWER 2 FT OF GRAVEL AND IN TOP 1 FT OF RIPPABLE SHALE BEDROCK; BENCH PLACERS MINED TO LESSER EXTENT. IN 1939 A 3 TON COPPER NUGGET WAS FOUND ON DAN CREEK

Comment (Location): A PRODUCTIVE PLACER AREA ALONG 6 MILES OF LOWER DAN CREEK. EXTENDS INTO MCCARTHY B-4 QUADRANGLE. BEST LOCATION: MACKEVETT, 1976, LOC. 57. ACCURATE WITHIN A FEW HUNDRED FEET.

Comment (Deposit): A LITTLE FINE GOLD CAN BE PANNED FROM PRACTICALLY ALL THE STREAMS DRAINING THE NORTH FLANK OF THE CHUGACH MOUNTAINS.

Comment (Production): 143500 OUNCES OF GOLD AND 40 TONS OF COPPER PRODUCED UP TO 1968

Comment (Workings): TYPE OF WORKINGS: SURFACE AND UNDERGROUND. MOSTLY SMALL-SCALE HAND AND OPEN-CUT HYDRAULIC METHODS; SOME DRIFT MINING.
