The Erickson is a copper mine located in Alaska.
About the MRDS Data:
All mine locations were obtained from the USGS Mineral Resources Data System. The locations and other information in this database have not been verified for accuracy. It should be assumed that all mines are on private property.
Mine Info
Satelite View
MRDS mine locations are often very general, and in some cases are incorrect. Some mine remains have been covered or removed by modern industrial activity or by development of things like housing. The satellite view offers a quick glimpse as to whether the MRDS location corresponds to visible mine remains.

Comments
Comment (Workings): Workings / Exploration = Explored by about 100 m of underground workings in two tunnels and 3 levels. One sample assayed 70 ppm Ag, four samples ranged between 7 to 30 ppm Ag (MacKevett and Smith, 1968). Underground workings.
Comment (Production): Production Notes = Minor production in 1917.
Comment (Commodity): Ore Material = Copper (native)
Comment (Deposit): Model Name = Basaltic Cu
Comment (Geology): Geologic Description = Native Cu, tenorite, cuprite, and minor amounts of other Cu minerals in irregular masses, thin veins, and disseminated grains in upper parts of amygdaloidal lava flows and, to a lesser extent, as fillings in amygdules or associated with quartz-epidote veins in Triassic Nikolai Greenstone. Deposit may be restricted to one 6 to 8 ft lava bed containing numerous amygdules. Most of copper fine-grained; copper masses to 27 kg have been recorded.
Comment (Exploration): Status = Inactive
Comment (Reference): Primary Reference = Miller, 1946
Comment (Geology): Age = Cretaceous
