About the MRDS Data:
All mine locations were obtained from the USGS Mineral Resources Data System. The locations and other information in this database have not been verified for accuracy. It should be assumed that all mines are on private property.
Mine Info
Satelite View
MRDS mine locations are often very general, and in some cases are incorrect. Some mine remains have been covered or removed by modern industrial activity or by development of things like housing. The satellite view offers a quick glimpse as to whether the MRDS location corresponds to visible mine remains.

Comments
Comment (Workings): Workings / Exploration = Deposit known to natives in late 1800's. Developed in 1899 by open cuts and more than 100 m underground workings but little work since. Mostly inaccessible by 1943. Surface and underground workings.
Comment (Deposit): Model Name = Vein, replacement, shear zone
Comment (Geology): Geologic Description = Two Cu-bearing veins, each less than 1 m thick, in shear zones in Triassic Nikolai Greenstone about 150 ft below base of Chitistone Limestone and just north of major fault. Veins mainly bornite and chalcopyrite, and minor pyrite, pyrrhotite and secondary Cu and Fe minerals in a quartz-calcite-epidote gangue.

Comment (Exploration): Status = Inactive
Comment (Geology): Age = Cretaceous
