Satelite View

MRDS mine locations are often very general, and in some cases are incorrect. Some mine remains have been covered or removed by modern industrial activity or by development of things like housing. The satellite view offers a quick glimpse as to whether the MRDS location corresponds to visible mine remains.

Comments

Comment (Deposit): Model Name = Lode: vein.

Comment (Geology): Geologic Description = Discontinuous, irregular molybdenite- and minor chalcopyrite-bearing quartz vein up to 0.5 cm thick following fault in Tertiary granodiorite pluton. Molybdenite localized along vein selvages.

Comment (Reference): Primary Reference = MacKevett and Smith, 1968

Comment (Workings): Workings / Exploration = About 120 m of underground workings. Channel and grab samples generally contained >2,000 ppm Mo and as much as 2.4 ppm Au and 100 ppm Cu (MacKevett and Smith, 1968).

Comment (Exploration): Status = Inactive
