Satelite View

MRDS mine locations are often very general, and in some cases are incorrect. Some mine remains have been covered or removed by modern industrial activity or by development of things like housing. The satellite view offers a quick glimpse as to whether the MRDS location corresponds to visible mine remains.

Comments

Comment (Geology): Geologic Description = Small masses of magnetite and diopside skarn in Triassic Chitistone Limestone adjacent to Jurassic granodiorite pluton, contain pyrite, pyrrhotite, chalcopyrite, epidote, chlorite, calcite and quartz. Mineralized zone is up to 8 m thick.

Comment (Exploration): Status = Inactive

Comment (Deposit): Model Name = Cu skarn

Comment (Reference): Primary Reference = Moffit and Mertie, 1923

Comment (Reserve-Resource): Reserves = Probably less than 10,000 tons of material assaying as much as 62 percent Fe.

Comment (Workings): Workings / Exploration = Explored by 100 ft adit and surface cuts. Grab samples assayed as much as 1,000 ppm Cu and 62 percent Fe (MacKevett, 1976).Type of workings: surface and underground.

Comment (Geology): Age = Jurassic
