Comments
Comment (Geology): Geologic Description = This occurrence consists of small amounts of sphalerite in quartz veinlets and as disseminated grains in a prominent orange-weathering knob about 30 feet in diameter (Grybeck and Nelson, 1981). The knob consists of dark-gray limestone that is faulted(?) into a sequence of calcareous muscovite phyllite. Selected samples contain more than 1 percent Zn, 500 ppm Cd, and up to 2 ppm Ag. Apparently the mineralized rock is restricted to the knob.
