Comments

Comment (Commodity): Ore Material = Placer gold

Comment (Workings): Workings / Exploration = Gold reported to assay $19.2/oz; equivalent to a fineness of about 930. Surface workings but no activity since the early 1900s.

Comment (Production): Production Notes = Production of a 'few ounces of placer gold' (Grybeck and Nelson, 1981).

Comment (Reference): Primary Reference = Grybeck and Nelson, 1981

Comment (Geology): Geologic Description = A few ounces of coarse placer gold was reported by Schrader (1904) to have been produced prior to 1913 from Lucky Six Creek. A small lens of high-grade silver ore and graphite was reported by prospectors prior to World War I (Smith, 1913). However, there is no more recent substantiation of any of these deposits and no new information.

Comment (Deposit): Model Name = Stream placer (Cox and Singer, 1986; model 39a)

Comment (Deposit): Other Comments = Located within Gates of the Arctic National Park.

Comment (Exploration): Status = Inactive
