The Unnamed is a uranium and thorium mine located in Alaska.
About the MRDS Data:
All mine locations were obtained from the USGS Mineral Resources Data System. The locations and other information in this database have not been verified for accuracy. It should be assumed that all mines are on private property.
Mine Info
Satelite View
MRDS mine locations are often very general, and in some cases are incorrect. Some mine remains have been covered or removed by modern industrial activity or by development of things like housing. The satellite view offers a quick glimpse as to whether the MRDS location corresponds to visible mine remains.

Comments
Comment (Geology): Age = Early Tertiary based isotopic ages from Sischu Volcanics (Moll and others, 1981).
Comment (Deposit): Model Name = Volcanogenic Uranium (Cox and Singer, 1986; model no. 25f)
Comment (Reference): Primary Reference = Miller and others, 1980
Comment (Workings): Workings / Exploration = Four grab samples collected by Miller and others (1980) contained from 28.0 to70.3 ppm uranium and from 108 to 127 ppm thorium.
Comment (Geology): Geologic Description = Miller and others (1980) reported anomalous thorium and uranium values from the Sischu Volcanics. Clautice and others (1993) report large sanadine crystals in felsic altered volcanic units in this area. The age of the mineral occurrence is inferred to be Early Tertiary, based on isotopic ages of Sischu Volcanics (Moll and others, 1981). Four grab samples collected by Miller and others (1980) contained from 28.0 to 70.3 ppm uranium and from 108 to 127 ppm thorium.
Comment (Deposit): Other Comments = See MD001 and MD002.
Comment (Exploration): Status = Inactive
